The Togian Islands: Geographical data, Adminsitration:
In the 21 st. century environ-mental issues are increasingly taking center stage.
For centuries the traditional way of life has proven environmentally friendly. Similar to the ecosystems of other islands, Togian is extremely susceptible to environmental imbalances.

Set on an approximate land area of 59, 773.27 hectares with a 108,669.99 km2 sea area reaching depths over 200 meters, the cluster is situated in the center of the Tomini Bay and consists of 56 islands.
The group of islands is subdivided into two subdistri-cts: The Una Una district, comprising 21 villages, and the Walea, consisting of 16 villages.
Administratively, they are managed by the Poso districts of Central Sulawesi.
